The Potamitika Nature Trail is a 2.8 km linear route that leads hikers on a scenic descent with an elevation loss of approximately 157 meters. For those choosing to return along the same path, the total out-and-back journey features an equivalent incline (elevation gain 157 meters) with the total distance of 5.6 km. Classified as easy-to-moderate, the hike typically takes about two hours to complete, including the return.

Viewpoints
The journey begins with a short ascent via a stone staircase, followed by a 500-meter stretch along a quiet asphalt and gravel road. While this section is functional, the true magic begins as the path veers off the road and descends into the heart of the Agros forest. Here, the landscape transforms, submerging you in a canopy of refreshing shade and revealing breathtaking views that make the initial walk well worth it.
Starting points
The trailhead is conveniently located directly opposite the Rodon Mount Hotel in Agros. As both ends of the trail are accessible by vehicle, hikers have the flexibility to begin their journey at either the hotel or the trail’s endpoint. The route can be completed as a traditional out-and-back hike, or alternatively, groups can arrange for a car to be waiting at the opposite end for a one-way experience. Personal comments
The first few hundred meters of the trail are so and so due to the walk on the asphalt and gravel road but later on, it becomes interesting and very beautiful! It goes down with mild descend into a dense forest with pretty enough coverage with beautiful views.
The trail is worth visiting. Choose a cloudy day for better pictures! The trail is short but it can be combined with the trails Alonatzia and/or Diosmides – Geratzia trail increasing distance to nearly 10 km.
